Rob Zuidwijk


Rob Zuidwijk is Endowed Professor of Ports in Global Networks at Rotterdam School of Management. The chair focuses on synchronizing transportation networks, connecting the port to global supply chains, and coordinating global supply chains for sustainability. Rob Zuidwijk received a PhD from Erasmus University in Mathematics. He presently supervises a number of PhD students on port related research. His work has been published in journals like California Management Review, Transportation Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Communications of the ACM, and Production and Operations Management. He teaches freight transport systems, international logistics, and supply chain management, and inter-organizational systems in logistics to BSc, MSc, and PhD students, and he is also involved in post-experience courses. Professor Rob Zuidwijk is Academic Director of two port related MSc programs, and actively participates in the SmartPort initiative, a collaboration between universities and port community. He participates and coordinates funded research projects on international logistics and container transport, such as ISOLA, INDEEP, Trans-SONIC, ISOLA, 2-Truck Platoon (NWO), STAD (Verdus), SELIS (H2020), and CO2REOPT (ERANET).
